To "NCIS" fans, Sasha Alexander is known for playing the unforgettable role of Special Agent Caitlin Todd. Alexander was a mainstay on the CBS series for two years after being introduced to fans during the pilot episode in Season 1 in September 2003, per IMDb. The actor's character joined a team of elite agents in Washington, D.C. as they solved cases involving Marine and Navy personnel, but after two seasons, Alexander ended her tenureon the Emmy-nominated program in September 2005.
Todd left the show in a dramatic fashion, as NCIS Fandom reported she was shot in the head by a terrorist during the last few moments of the Season 2 finale. Alexander cited other projects and career goals as the reason for her exit, according to Showbiz CheatSheet, and then-showrunner Donald P. Bellisario said the TV star bid farewell because of the grueling schedule. "Sasha came in ... with tears in her eyes, she said, 'I just can't work this hard," he told The Chicago Tribune in 2005. "We work very long hours, and Sasha just didn't feel she was physically up to that kind of time and commitment."
Despite parting ways with the crime series,Alexander went on to snag parts in plenty of other fan-favorites — so much so, the actor, who previously appeared in "Twin Falls Idaho," "Dawson's Creek," "CSI," "Friends," and more, is said to have a fortune valued at $20 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. You know her for her work as an actor on "NCIS" and so much more, but you might be surprised to learn Sasha Alexander is the daughter-in-law of one of Hollywood's most beloved fashion icons, Sophia Loren. The California native is part of the legendary Italian actor's family through her marriage to Edoardo Ponti, whom Loren shares with late husband Carlo Ponti. Alexander became Loren's daughter-in-law when she married her husband, aka the superstar's son, in 2007. Alexander and Edoardo are the parents of their two children, daughter Lucia Sofia Ponti and son Leonardo Fortunato Ponti, according to People.
Fortunately for Alexander, her relationship with Loren is nothing like what you see in the hilarious 2005 film "Monster-in-Law." According to the "Presidio Med" alum, the ladies share a sweet bond, and Loren has even gifted her son's love some of her clothes. "A few years back, Sophia let me raid her closet (you can imagine) ... I went crazy for the vintage Dior pieces," Alexander captioned a side-by-side photo of the two wearing the looks via Instagram in April. "This dress was one she wore often and Edoardo remembers it well. With a little nip/ tuck (particularly in the boobies) it is now one of the most treasures [sic] pieces in my closet." How lovely!
